LEHIGHTON ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB

LABC Track and Field

Welcome back for the 2026 Track and Field Season. Our registration will open March 1, 2026 at 6 am and will close on April 6, 2026 at 10 am. After that point, only returning athletes can register up until April 20, 2026. For new participants, we will have our draft somewhere between April 7 and 9. So, you will find out which team you got on between April 8th and 10th.

Our first practice will be April 13, 2026 from 6-7:30 at Lehighton's Multi-Purpose Stadium. We will alternate days of practice again, so, one week you will be MWF and the following week your team will practice TH. Saturday practices are back as well and will run from 10-11:30 at Lehighton's Multi-Purpose Stadium.

Track Meet is Scheduled for the weekend of June 6th with multiple ensuing rain dates. Let's hope that this year we have better weather throughout the season.

*Practice Dates noted with * are to be held at the MS Track. Any "extra" or rain make-up practices will be held at the MS Track and scheduled by the Head Coach of each team based upon their availability.

2025 track meet highlights and awards:

100 M Hurdles Intermediate Girls – Mya McCarroll broke the record – 17.09

100 M Hurdles Senior Boys – Jace White set the record – 17.51

This season due to the ages changed within the Divisions, every child that won a Pee Wee or Junior event, will be a NEW RECORD HOLDER! All of the old Pee Wee and Junior records will be retired and listed in the program yearly as a commemoration.

Requirements for LABC Track and Field

Participants will be required to be at least 6 years of age for this program. Participants must be in grades Kindergarten through 8th. Participants may not turn 15 years old during the season.

All participants must be residents of Lehighton or attend a school in the Lehighton Area.

New rule this season; MS Track athletes will get credit for attended practices when they are attending and participating in MS Track Meets.

New Divisions as of 2025:

Peewees: 6 and 7 years old

Juniors: 8 and 9 years old

Intermediates: 10, and 11 years old

Seniors: 12-14 years old

AGE AT THE START OF PRACTICE WILL BE USED FOR PLACEMENT IN EVENTS.

*All participants must make at least 8 full practices to participate in the track meet. (NO exceptions)

*We know your child/children may be involved in other sports and/or activities, but we ask that you try your best to have your child attend the entire track meet. It makes it easier for our head coaches to keep track of their athletes and their events. If for some reason your child/children need to leave during the meet, please notify your head coach immediately.

Cancellations due to weather

Due to the large number of participants, we will NOT be making phone calls to cancel practices. If practice is cancelled, the head coaches will take care of notifying their teams whether it be via email, Facebook or whatever their platform of choice is for mass communication. We strongly encourage the head coaches to make the call by 5 pm. We just ask that you either stay at the track or in the near vicinity of the track in case we would have to call practice. If you see that it's about to rain, please come to the track immediately to pick up your child/children.

PLEASE WEAR SNEAKERS (RUNNING SHOES) NO CLEATS!

SHORTS, SWEAT PANTS, SWEAT SHIRTS, LONG SLEEVED T-SHIRTS, HATS, GLOVES. It is always cooler and windy at the track.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER OR GATORADE (NO RED).

PLEASE PLACE EMPTY BOTTLES IN TRASH CANS.
